Answers To Frequently Asked Questions

Do you always work with computers?
It depends on the project

What kind of computer do you use?
PC, Mac and sometimes Linux. But I usually like to use PC. I always use top of the line electronics when it comes to processors, video cards, and motherboards. My favorite is ASUS motherboard and video card with dual monitors. Of course, these are just tools, in order to get the most out of your computer you need a solid art and design foundation coupled with technical background. If you don’t have that foundation a state of the art computer can’t really help you with your projects

Is there any other art school do you recommend?
I think that depends on what you want to do, and on your background. I have graduated from Art Center College of Design . Prior to Art Center, I did take extension classes at Otis|Parsons when they were located on Alvarado street. Now Otis is located by Playa Del Rey.

Which school should I go to?
Here is a list of schools in the field of technical direction and design. I have nothing to do with these schools. This is just a list as a resource for those interested in exploring the world of technical direction and design.

Interesting design school run down Baris. Enjoyed it very much. I agree that design education is important, as I have myself, been poorly educated by my tutors & the system recently. Only 3 of them were worthy of being called good. But is it an easy task, oh hell no!

Thanks for sharing your actual computer preference. I’ll have to try Linux out myself and see how it goes. I’ve been struggling to pick the right OS- but I do agree that PC is better for technical design work. I’m usually very happy with how you can really get things done on a PC (almost no crashing EVER). So this totally makes sense- :)

Nice post – I still think a great design education is where it all starts and ends.

There is a saying: ‘He who dares’ – it doesn’t necessarily matter whether the plan, or in this case your design education, works out but if you push against the universe this prompts a reply from other parties and at some point you will hit on to some momentum.

Thank you for recognizing the need for design education, if only just the bachelor’s level. I work in a position that requires constant creativity, and sometimes I’ll find myself amazed at the caliber of people that get jobs in my field who are ‘self-taught’.
